Homeless Education

9:00 am-3:00 pm (box lunch provided)

Symposium Description: District Homeless Liaisons are the front line in identifying and assisting homeless children and youth to attend and succeed in school. This Symposium offers training on the duties of Liaisons and district responsibilities under the McKinney-Vento Act. The State Coordinator and veteran Liaisons will lead discussions and activities that include information on topics such as eligibility and school placement, dispute resolution, services for preschool-age and younger children, FAFSA and unaccompanied homeless students. Box lunch provided. Registration for the Thursday Symposium includes participation in the morning workshops (only) on Friday.
